Fluid Containment Installer

Position Outline

Fluid Containment Installer should have basic knowledge of oil and gas operations or construction laborer duties. He/she should be receptive to guidance as well as training and mentorship by the Lead or Supervisor. The laborer role requires initial training and certifications in various HSE and OSHA requirements, as well as task specific, specialty tool and equipment training as the individual progresses through their advancement in basic knowledge and understanding.  Like his/her supervisors, this individual shall be respectful of his supervisors and co-workers and will be condition of work to show up on time and ready to work with PPE once they arrive to location.  As instructed by their supervisors, employees will be required to understand the task of a JSA, its intended purpose, and they will be able to fill these out on behalf of their crews.  Also, as they advance to operate equipment, they will receive instruction from their supervision as well as formal training classes scheduled specifically for their certification. If you do not understand; ask.  If you do not feel safe; stop the job.

In all tasks, the individual will be required to reinforce safety and they will apply those principles personally and to their respective team members.  No job is more important than safety.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Stop the job if you feel it’s not safe
  • Safely working in all-weather conditions
  • Being on call to meet customer need
  • Work non-schedule related hours
  • General labor (i.e. pushing, pulling, hand tools, & power tools)
  • Basic equipment operation
  • Follow company policy and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Willing to travel for short stent projects
  • Ability to start on day one with steel toe boots
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 75 pounds
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as random drug testing 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification and proficiency in operating equipment
  • SafeLand, OSHA 10, CPR/1st Aid, and H2S Training
  • Class A CDL

Project Performance:

  • Uses Installer competency form to grasp expectations of the position
  • Follows outlined metric for establishing individual growth and promotional opportunity
  • Keep copies of training certifications and work with supervisor to assist him to schedule to avoid a lapse in your certifications
  • Performs duties in accordance with EHS and company policy
  • Responds appropriately to supervisor’s instructions or requests clarification when needed
  • Learns the procedural sequence of tank assembly, disassembly and secondary containment installation
  • Site inspection/preparation including tools and safety devices
  • Piping installation
  • Tank and site cleanup
  • Follow the procedures of containment installation and removal
  • Attains safe operator proficiency with aerial lifts, skid-steer, backhoe and forklift operation
  • Utilizes and maintains Shalestone equipment & resources as a professional (cleanliness, fluid levels, etc.)
  • Report all incidents immediately to supervisor no matter how minor
  • Other duties as assigned
